Deltin Casino of Marriott Hotel has paid the tax after the Kathmandu Metropolitan City asked them to pay the entertainment tax. According to Vasant Acharya, Information Officer of Kathmandu Metropolis, Deltin Cassina of Marriott Hotel in Ward No. 1 has paid a tax of Rs. 19 lakh 37 thousand.
According to Acharya, the casino paid only the amount other than the fine. He said that the casino operator calculated the fine and only paid the tax.
On August 19, the revenue department of Kathmandu Metropolitan City directed the casinos of 7-star hotels to pay the entertainment tax and fines within 7 days. Apart from Marriott, other hotels have not paid yet.
