In the first month of the current financial year, the total import of goods decreased by almost 13 percent. According to the details released by the Customs Department, the total import has decreased by 12.90 percent.
Similarly, in the same month, the total export of goods also decreased by 28.68 percent. According to the department, goods worth 1 trillion 31 billion 286 million 66 thousand were imported in the month of July. In the same period last year, Nepal imported goods worth 1 trillion 50 billion 73 billion 17 lakh 19 thousand.
In July last year, Nepal exported goods worth 20.76 billion 51 lakh 17 thousand, while in the same month of the current year, Nepal exported goods worth 14.80 billion 97 lakh.
In the last month of July, there has been a total trade loss of 1 trillion 16 billion 47 billion 63 million. In the same month last year, Nepal suffered a trade deficit equal to 1 trillion 29 billion 96 million 66 lakh.
A total of 1 trillion 46 billion 957 million worth of foreign trade has been done. In July 2022, the country did foreign trade worth 1 trillion 71 billion 49 billion 68 million. According to the department, revenue equal to 31 billion 96 million 16 million has been collected from the import of goods.
